ABOUT US:
Africa AHEAD, as an association and non-profit, was formed in 2005 by the innovators of the CHC approach.
This Association was developed as a way of promoting cost-effective development by facilitating sustainable management of health by communities themselves through structured participation in Community Health Clubs.
The CHC methodology was first pioneered by the Zimbabwe AHEAD organisation in 1995 and has spread to other countries in Africa. Africa AHEAD is currently implementing projects in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Guinea Bissau, while past partnerships with programmes in Uganda (2004) and Sierra Leone (2002) are still flourishing and expanding (See Associates).
