Storing Water

Description of the Topic

The ‘Drinking Water’ set provides 20 illustrations of different types of containers used to store drinking water typical of most parts of Africa, with options of covered or uncovered containers. The cards are used to help prompt participants  to work out how drinking water should be stored in order to prevent transmission of disease.

How to use Card set  8.a. ‘Storing Water’ 

This set can be used in three ways:

1. A participant holds up the card to the audience and describes what she sees and if water stored in this way is safe  to drink.
2. The cards can be used combined with 7.a. Water Sources and 8.b. Utilisation of drinking water to illustrate the safe water chain.
3.  The cards can be used as formative research to find which  disease are thought to be caused by unsafe drinking water by showing 2.a. Common Disease.
