How Community Health Clubs develop a ‘common unity of purpose’

'Common Unity'

Community Health Clubs ensure that communities really share ‘common unity’ through

  •  same knowledge
  • understanding
  • attitudes
  • behaviour
  • standards if hygiene
  • objective for improvement
  • plan of action

We often talk about community as if people living in the same area all share a common vision but this is seldom the case. Most Communities especially in the rural areas, are subsisting with little chance to come together and plan their way out of poverty. Africa AHEAD works on the basic assumption that Community have to first develop common unity before they can get organised to change their lives for the better. This is why we start Community Health Clubs, which provide a weekly meeting in which everyone can come together to problem solve and prioritise their immediate needs.
